Skinnyz is owned by Jennifer Polvere, a native Mobilian (Alabama) who loves the Gulf Coast, her family & friends. The Skinnyz name was created from Jennifer being called “Skinny Jenny”.
The “Z” came from her liking of the ZZ Top Band’s signature “Z” design (band of the 70′s). The décor of Skinnyz is a collection of memorabilia from the Coastline of Mobile, Gulf Shores, Biloxi, Pensacola, and anywhere else in that nearby vicinity! Our food is prepared fresh each day and with the freshest & best quality of ingredients.
The Signature menu item, “Crab Clawz“, is Jenny’s favorite. The crab finger (claw) comes from the blue crab in the Gulf of Mexico. The warmer the waters, the larger the crab claw! By hand, each claw must be cleaned of tiny shell pieces encasing the tender crabmeat attached to the cartilage. It takes a lot of claws to make up a pound! Hence, a costly but desirable entree & probably the reason you don’t see them in restaurants north of Alabama!
